Aster and the Fire

Hello once again!

I have a fun fact for this week’s update, and it’s all about the foods Aster and Jember are eating for breakfast! I just realized most ppl probably don’t know what they are, lol…

The bread that Aster and Jember are eating is called hambusha/himbasha. It’s a type of Ethiopian bread. Kind of sweet with whole cardamon seeds in it! Typically eaten with tea or coffee, or a little bit of berbere (the dark sauce in the dish next to Jember) for some added flavor and heat.

Dabo kolo is also a popular Ethiopian snack (the bowl with the bits)-it’s basically just small pieces of baked bread, usually with barley flour or chickpeas. Man I need to go home soon and get some…
