I’m going to talk a little bit about Ezera’s secret library today. It’s located on the top floor of the house, via a secret entrance built into the wall in the hallway. Everything is mechanical or electrically powdered-no kaolite or magic used at all! It’s very unusual, even archaic to most of Miyan society. But when your government can track you through magic, sometimes the best method is to go back to the basics. The whole room is elevated above the third floor, right up by the roof, so when the bookshelves retract, there’s extra room for them to be stored in. And of course, the tops of the bookshelves have hardwood panels installed to mimic the floors. The intercom system is wired into the master bedroom and living room on the second floor, so people can communicate with each other if anybody suspicious arrives…or if it’s dinner time, lol. It’s a pretty nice setup, but it took years and lots of money for Ezera to complete (much to the chagrin of Tsegai, who helped finance and design the whole thing).
